The transverse flute is the ancestor of the modern Böhm flute. It can be constructed in various woods including European Boxwood, Pear Wood, Grenadillo, Jacaranda, and Rosewood, etc. The transverse flute is highly valued by admirers of Ancient Music and interprets baroque flute music in its original quality. This flute creates sound when a stream of air directed across the top of a hole springs in and out of the hole.
This transverse flute is handcrafted in Bolivia by an excellent Andean artisan.
